Summer has arrived, and that means the most important event on the calendar. Jackson ImmunoResearch’s summer picnic! Read our latest article from returning intern, Maddie, and find out what the teams at JIR got up to this year.

From bell-bottoms to neon leg warmers, JacksonImmuno’s annual summer picnic on June 27th turned back the clock with this year’s decades theme. Employees showcased their creative side with costumes ranging from the Y2K era to the groovy 1970s, and even the Mesozoic era. This year’s summer picnic was a time-traveling celebration of fun, friendship, and team spirit.
To start off the picnic, Jackson ImmunoResearch employees gathered for a feast of many delicious foods, including a smoked pig, mac n cheese, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and more. However, everyone’s favorite part of the meal was the Kona ice that Jackson ImmunoResearch provided as a small treat. After everyone had eaten their fill, the festivities and games commenced. It began with testing everyone’s knowledge of past eras through a competitive trivia game. There were also a variety of other games, including cornhole, giant Jenga, soccer darts, bucketball, and hula hooping. Each game played provided employees with a chance to win raffle tickets, which could earn them gift cards from different outlets, including Barnes & Noble, Panera, Walmart, Dunkin’ Donuts, and CVS.
As the afternoon drew to a close, there was one final friendly competition to play, which left no one dry! The water balloon fight had everyone laughing, ducking, and completely soaked — a perfect way to cool down and close out the day.
At Jackson ImmunoResearch, traditions like our summer party aren’t just about kicking back and having fun; they’re about camaraderie, making connections, and the stories made and retold. Whether it’s reliving the past or building the future, these events help bring Jackson ImmunoResearch employees together decade after decade.
