(min X Hrs, Hu, Ms, Rb, Rat Ig)

Target: Goat
Host: Mouse
Antibody Format: IgG Fraction Monoclonal
Specificity: IgG, light chain specific
Minimal Cross Reactivity: Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat Immunoglobulins
Conjugate: Alexa Fluor® 488

Warning: Bovine serum albumin (BSA) and dry milk may contain IgG. Secondary antibodies directed against alpaca, bovine, goat, horse, or sheep react with bovine IgG. Therefore, use of BSA or milk to block or dilute these antibodies may significantly increase background and/or reduce antibody titer. For blocking, normal serum (5% v/v) from the host species of the labeled secondary antibody is recommended.

Technical Info
Based on antigen-binding assay, Western blotting, and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with the light chains on goat IgG and with those common to other goat immunoglobulins. The antibody does not react with the heavy chain of goat IgG. The antibody has been tested by ELISA to ensure minimal cross-reaction with horse, human, mouse, rabbit and rat immunoglobulins, but it may cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species.

Physical State: Freeze-dried solid

Storage and Rehydration: Store freeze-dried solid at 2-8°C. Rehydrate with the indicated volume of dH2O (see product specification sheet) and centrifuge if not clear. Prepare working dilution on day of use. Product is stable for about 6 weeks at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid.
Extended Storage after Rehydration: Aliquot and freeze at -70°C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Alternatively, add an equal volume of glycerol (ACS grade or better) for a final concentration of 50%, and store at -20°C as a liquid.
Expiration date: one year from date of rehydration. The expiration date may be extended if test results are acceptable for the intended use.

Buffer: 0.01M Sodium Phosphate, 0.25M NaCl, pH 7.6
Stabilizer: 15 mg/ml Bovine Serum Albumin (IgG-Free, Protease-Free)
Preservative: 0.05% Sodium Azide

Suggested Working Concentration or Dilution Range:

1:100 - 1:800 for most applications

Dilution factors are presented in the form of a range because the optimal dilution is a function of many factors, such as antigen density, permeability, etc. The actual dilution used must be determined empirically.

Alexa Fluor® 488

Amax: 493 Emax: 519nm

Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated antibodies absorb light maximally at 493 nm and fluoresce with a peak around 519 nm. In aqueous mounting media they are brighter than FITC, Cy2, and DyLight 488. Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugates are recommended for maximum sensitivity for all immunofluorescence procedures requiring a green-fluorescing dye, except for protocols that include mounting in plastic mounting media.
